And the winner is ...

Soundworks was crowned champion of the “A Cappella Sing-off” held at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, on December 6, 2012.
The competition was a fund-raising event for local non-profit charities, Literacy for Life and the Williamsburg Choral Guild. Recording artists, ROCKAPELLA, performed and judged the event. Second place went to Epic, the 2012 Harmony Queens of Harmony Inc. Third place went to the Octaves, a men’s ensemble from the University of Richmond. The ten groups competing in the Sing-off included ensembles from The College of William and Mary, University of Richmond, Christopher Newport University, James Madison University, the quartet Epic, and Soundworks.

Soundworks has been competing since 2006 and has proven to be a crowd favorite. We have won the Mid-Atlantic District's Southern Division competition six times and placed 2nd once. We have placed in the top seven at the Mid-Atlantic District competition four times, placing as high as 5th in the District. In 2012 we were delighted to have a chance to compete against several college A Cappella groups at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA. It was a fantastic evening of tight harmonies and a chance to meet other A Cappella groups from around Virginia.
